Another thing that is important to take into consideration when choosing the right dresser for your bedroom is color. What color would you like your dresser to be? While many dressers are made of wood and therefore come in different wood stains like cherry, oak, or mahogany, there are also dressers made of different materials that are available in every color of the rainbow. The important thing to remember with color selection is that you want your dresser to blend in with everything else in your bedroom. You want the dresser to look as though it is a part of a bedroom collection even if it is not. Choose a neutral color thats not distracting from your overall décor.
There are different types of dressers for you to choose from. The smallest of these dressers are called drawer dressers as you only get to see drawers in these dressers. The largest type of dressers is called door dressers, because of the door found in the center of the dresser. This door is used for covering pull out trays and shelves. The larger the dresser, the more expensive it is You have to choose your oak dresser depending on whether you want one with smaller and more drawers or one with fewer and bigger drawers. Of course, the larger the dresser, and the more drawers in the dresser, the more expensive it will be.
In order to create a more contemporary look for a dresser, an artisan will blend different woods together. Making hardwood knobs out of different woods and materials is an easy way to give any traditional style of furniture a unique look. Darker dovetail details on the top of the dresser or on the paneling also brings a simple accent of elegance to an otherwise simple dresser. Studio furniture designers enjoy the freedom to play with combinations of knobs, joinery methods and natural woods to satisfy each and every clients personality and style. Another style of handmade dressers that is still popular today is the Shaker style. Originating in the late 1700s, the Shaker style is revered for its clean lines, durable features and innovative joinery methods. Distinctive features include an arched apron and tapered legs, which looks graceful and unimposing.
One of the most important things you need to do when looking for the perfect dresser is choose a dresser based on your specific type of bedroom. You need to make sure that the dresser you choose fits in with the overall décor of your bedroom. There are lots of really beautiful dressers available in different styles so it shouldnt be difficult to find one to fit in with your bedroom. Does your bedroom have more of a traditional feel? If so you should choose a dresser with a classic, traditional look. Does your bedroom have the elegant feel of a Victorian theme? Try a dresser with a romantic feel enhanced with beautiful attention to the detailed carvings.
2. Dressers with mirrors Dressers with mirrors are usually placed in the bedroom as "vanity stations". Most dressers with mirrors are low, about 2-3 feet tall, with a slot for a low stool or chair. The cabinets and drawers flank the space for the chair. These dressers have big tops that function as tables to place cosmetics and other trinkets. The cabinets and drawers usually are not deep and spacious as smaller articles are usually placed in them. Newer designs of dressers with mirrors take out the space for the chair and replace them with cabinets. Furthermore, newer designs are taller and have more spacious cabinets. Newer designs seem to combine the functionalities of a vanity station and a storage space for clothes and bigger articles. These dressers are bigger, and so these are suited for bigger rooms with more space. But there are smaller and more compact dressers with mirrors available in the market today. Although smaller, they still provide the same function.
