Box Spring. Sunday , February 11th , 2018 - 13:12:17 PM
If you require a box spring for your mattress If your purpose for a platform bed is to have a lower profile that adding a box spring might not make any sense. There are platform beds that have that have a much lower foundation that can easily set up the box spring and mattress. This way you can get the best setup for your mattress and still have that desire low profile. Does your Platform Bed have Slats? Slats can take place for the box spring. But once again you should refer to your manufactures guide. Depending on your mattress thickness, you could possibly feel the sagging around the spacing of your slats. Off course the closer the slats the better, but most of the times the slats are built in and only able to adjust them minimally. Using Plywood Deck If all else fails then the best solution is to measure the width and length of the bed. Use these measurements and cut out a plywood deck. I would recommend cutting them into 2 or 3 smaller pieces. Cutting one large plywood deck can be difficult, especially if you have a larger size like a king or queen. Once again though check with your manufacturers guide. The flat foundation could possibly make the mattress less comfortable.
Some moving suppliers will have boxes specially designed for standard bed sizes. This can be a big help for keeping the mattress stable during transport. Padding around the box spring is also recommended to keep the harder lower corners from putting little dents in the wall. There can never be enough padding on furniture while it moves in and out of the home. There most damage done to the wall and floors occur because large heavy objects are dropped or swung around too fast. Caution and a good blanket for cushion can prevent a lot of heart ache later. Last but not least be sure to life with the legs when moving mattresses. When hoisted improperly, the mattress can really cause some damage. A new homeowner wants to enjoy the whole home and not just the bedroom recovering from injury.
Step 3: If you can carry the box spring with one hand, use your other hand to support the upper part of the furniture. If not, you can secure the upper part using a removable tape. Step 4: Carefully move backwards. Your motion with your friend should be synchronized so he or she does not end up pushing you. You might also want to move first so that your friend can follow. Hold the end of the furniture at arms length so you can peek below and find out if you are going to trip on a tread of the staircase. Step 5: When moving into corners, slowly angle the furniture to fit the corners. Your friend might need to take a back step to position the furniture and avoid banging it to the corners of the stairs. Step 6: Once you have already reached your destination, carefully put it down. Bend your knees and support the top of the box spring when putting it down. Make sure your partner have also moved it down before releasing your hold on it.
