Box Spring. Sunday , February 11th , 2018 - 13:12:17 PM
Realistically, from all of the research I have done on this (and with a girlfriend that constantly debates this point with me, Ive done my share of research), I have concluded that box springs only do two things well, and that is 1. increase the overall height of the bed, and 2. soften the overall firmness of the bed (given that the box spring is not extremely firm). Helping the mattress last longer is a distant, distant, and arguable third. As a person who neither cares for a tall bed, nor a soft bed, I found that platform beds are the most stylishly modern, environmentally-friendly pieces of furniture to complement my mattress. You simply dont need a box spring for your mattress/bed.
Visions of warm sandy beaches or powder covered ski slopes have many students and families excited for their upcoming spring break. With thoughts focused on how they will spend their vacation time and considering what souvenirs they may wish to bring home, the last thing they are considering is protecting themselves from bringing home bed bugs. They like to travel and are good hitchhikers. They will hide in suitcases, boxes and shoes to be near a food supply. They are elusive, nocturnal creatures and can hide behind baseboards and in cracks, crevices, and folded areas of beds, bedding and adjacent furniture, especially mattresses and box springs. Bed bugs can wreak havoc on your life, not only because of their itchy bites, but they spread quickly and are extremely difficult to get rid of.
This is because there is zero heat exchange between your box spring area and your body. Your best choice is to encase your box spring{s} with inexpensive Vinyl encasings that will zip completely around your box spring{s}. Vinyl Box spring encasings make no noise on a box spring and they never have to be cleaned in the washer and dryer. Vinyl box spring encasings are also waterproof! To clean, just wipe them down with a damp cloth when they become dusty or dirty. Bedding And Chemicals There are many chemicals on the market advertising to get rid of Dust Mites and Dust Mite allergen on different types of surfaces! From our over 20 years of experience we feel that it is better to stay away from these chemicals that you may react to. Especially when it comes to bedding! Dont take chemical shortcuts!
