2. Sand and paint your dressers with care Sanding and painting a kitchen dresser is a job which is best done outdoors. It can be a very messy job - and no one wants to breathe paint fumes if they dont have to, so take your dresser outside before you begin. Start by sanding your kitchen dresser thoroughly, since this will help your paint stick to the wood and save you a lot of trouble down the road. Choose the color of paint according to the kitchen paint and kitchen wall tiles you use indoors; the idea is to match or coordinate the color with your existing decor, though it is not necessary to have a precise match.
3. Bed end dressers This piece of furniture is a cross between a bed end chest and a dresser. These dressers are the smallest yet, as they only reach a height of a foot and a half. They are specifically placed at the foot of the bed. They resemble bed end chests only that instead of a big opening on top, you find drawers. These kinds of dressers are perfect for kids rooms and play areas. You can use them to store small pieces of clothes like underwear, socks or towels, and also store small toys, books and coloring materials.
If you are looking for a dresser to enhance the appearance of your bedroom but you are finding them too expensive, then you should consider buying an unfinished pine dresser. Purchasing an unfinished pine dresser and then finishing it works out amazingly cheap and much better than putting your money in a finished dresser which might not suit your needs. You can find an unfinished pine dresser almost anywhere. You can check online and search for online auction websites or online furniture dealers and they are sure to have an unfinished dresser made from pine for sale. They are not very expensive and the amount you will spend in having them finished is not much either. You yourself could put on your working gloves and attempt finishing your pine dresser if you have attempted something like it before.
2. Dressers with mirrors Dressers with mirrors are usually placed in the bedroom as "vanity stations". Most dressers with mirrors are low, about 2-3 feet tall, with a slot for a low stool or chair. The cabinets and drawers flank the space for the chair. These dressers have big tops that function as tables to place cosmetics and other trinkets. The cabinets and drawers usually are not deep and spacious as smaller articles are usually placed in them. Newer designs of dressers with mirrors take out the space for the chair and replace them with cabinets. Furthermore, newer designs are taller and have more spacious cabinets. Newer designs seem to combine the functionalities of a vanity station and a storage space for clothes and bigger articles. These dressers are bigger, and so these are suited for bigger rooms with more space. But there are smaller and more compact dressers with mirrors available in the market today. Although smaller, they still provide the same function.
For utility purposes- dressers provide storage space for keeping clothes, shoes, linen or children s things. Some things are stored much more easily in a dresser rather than a full cupboard. Things can be kept in a more organized manner when kept in this piece of furniture and when they are kept in a neat way they can also be found with ease. • To fill space in a room- when you have a large bedroom then just the bed and the wardrobe are not enough to take up all the space of the room. The only other piece of furniture which you can logically place in the bedroom is a dresser. The dresser looks just right in the bedroom and it is useful in storing many things as well. When wardrobe space is insufficient- sometimes it makes more sense to put things in a dresser instead of placing an additional cupboard in the room, which invariably takes up a lot of space. To keep things which are needed frequently- people like to store their dressers with things that they use every day or very frequently like shoes, baby stuff, school things and more. These are all very good reasons for adding a dresser to every room in your home.
